AH-UV55
The 55W Ultra Violet UV system is ideal for point of entry or point of use applications, commonly used as part of a private water supply setup to help protect against bacteria & microorganisms. The system comprises of a 304 grade stainless steel chamber containing a UV-C germicidal lamp. As water flows through the system microorganisms are exposed to the UV light within the chamber.
At up to 45 litres per minute flow rate this system is suitable for use as a whole house UV system to treat water for small/average homes where the flow rate will not exceed 45LPM. Ideal for use on private water supplies, well water treatment, bore holes, motorhomes, static homes, and so on.
The UV lamp / bulb will last for up to approximately 1 year between changes, with changing recommended after 8000 hours - note bulb will remain lit beyond this but will loose effectiveness. The power supply transformer features a visual indicator to show when the bulb is lit or not in the rare event of bulb failure, for complete peace of mind it is recommended to check this regularly when in use.
Note: It is always recommended to choose a lamp with higher capacity than anticipated to account for variances in water conditions and lamp life. It is recommended that the UV system is installed after at least a 5 micron filter as sediment particles may shadow microorganisms from the UV light. We recommend installing after our whole house UV pre filter system for this.

Unfortunately it doesn't work....
I've had this installed for a few months now and the system has failed a bacteria test again. Purchased an over-sized unit for extra protection with a 1micron filter but a waste of time. When cold tap is first run the water is quite hot so looks like most of the power is going to heat rather than UV.Quality piece of equipment, delivered quickly and well packaged.
Bought this four months ago but only just installed the first one (of two) as building works went more slowly than expexcted! Was concerned about ordering the item with such fragile components (UV bulb and glass sleeve) but everything was brilliantly well packaged and arrived ok (from UK to Spain) despite local couriers here being pretty rough with packages. The photocopied instructions were a bit faint and took a bit of deciphering but assembly was reasonably easy. The cylinder is quite long (nearly a metre) so one needs to think about location carefully especially for joining into plumbing. Sealing the uv bulb and sleeve into the cartridge needs care and our (very good) local plumber had a slight problem getting the o-rings to seat and make the whole unit watertight but it all installed fine in the end. Can’t judge performance yet as it has only been installed for a few days.
