This filter cartridge connects in-line with 1/4" water pipe and is designed for use with drinking water systems in hard water areas. This filter will prevent scale from forming in pipework and appliances and is ideal for use with under sink water filter kits, american style fridge freezers with water/ice depensers, and water coolers.

Most water filters supplied with the above are carbon only filters, which will only remove the taste/odour of the water but will have minimal effect upon scale. If you live in a hard water area we recommend you also use a scale prevention filter in order to protect the water dispenser mechanism from scale, and to improve the taste of hot drinks by removing the scum which can form on the surface of hot drinks in hard water areas.

Water Softening Resin

The filter cartridge contains a resin to remove calcium/magnesium from the water to prevent scale from forming in kettles, water dispensers, and from causing scum in hot drinks. It is recommended to use this filter in addition to the standard carbon filter on your system as this filter will only remove the scale (not Chlorine and other chemicals, etc).
