This is a long life high capacity Water Filter System, this kit comes complete with a dedicated drinking water tap, long life water filter cartridge, all pipes and fittings, and full DIY easy to follow instructions.

Filtration Media

Uses KDF55 and granular activated carbon (GAC). KDF55 is a U.S patented filtration media which is very effective at removing high levels of chlorine, hydrogen sulphide, heavy metals, and has antibacterial properties. The media works by creating a redox reaction to create an electrolytes environment within the water which inhibits bacteria growth.

The Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is a very effective filtration media which absorbs many chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, THMs, PCBs, Chloramines, and many other chemical compounds.

Capacity

20,000 Gallons / 75,7000 litres. Recommended replace every 3 years * depending upon incoming water quality

By using a combination of both KDF and GAC this filter cartridge has a very long lifespan, the KDF inhibits bacteria growth and also enhances the lifespan of the carbon in the filter by removing hydrogen sulphide and other compounds which can clog carbon only filters.

A cost effective replacement for an old filter.

I bought this filter kit to replace my long time Silverline filter system. The cartridges needed replaced every two years and the cost kept escalating to a point where a new one would have cost more than buying this complete kit. Added to that the original tap was becoming worn out so this kit with its included tap was ideal for my needs.
I am unable to confirm how this filter is capable of performing with a full 3/8" pipe connection because I used a 1/4" to 3/8" connector to link to my existing piping; I simply don't have enough access to the under-sink plumbing to cut and connect into the cold water pipe so have to stick with the original Bee-sting connection. However, even with the 1/4" pipe restriction my impression is that I get a slightly faster flow rate through this filter than through the old one.
I don't have too much of a scale problem where I live but the tap water reeks of chlorine so I find a filter essential to making it drinkable. So far this filter seems every bit as effective in achieving this as my previous one. Add to that the much more substantial tap, with its much slicker operation, and I am very satisfied with this product.
